A Movie-Themed Wedding with Minted
Wedding season is in full swing and it’s extra special this year, because my little ‘sis is getting married! And not just to a regular bloke, but to a really wonderful guy who I look forward to calling my brother-in-law. These two share a beautiful love story that weaves through their University years. They travelled East together, they travelled West together and soon they will be travelling down the aisle together.
My sister, Cassie, wanted to play up the movie theme in the accents of their wedding. Both her and her fiancé have a great appreciation for movies and thought it was a neat idea to include. I couldn’t agree more – it has a playful, yet timeless element to it. It’s black tie affair, meets your favourite movie theatre treats – if you get where I’m going (candy table!!!).
Cassie was asking me for some ideas and well, what’s a big sis to do….besides chime in on everything, right? Well, within reason of course! But yes, I’ve got wedding ideas. I can’t help it! Love ’em, love parties, love themes. I knew that for her wedding invites and decoration accents, we had to turn to Minted. They are my go to for all things paper and never disappoint. And sure enough, they had a movie-themed invite that could be personalized to a wedding invitation. I was thrilled! So were the couple getting married, in case you were wondering. They loved it, I loved it – and the folks at Minted knew just what to do to make the design special and personal. The front of the invitation is like a movie slate, very clean and minimal info, but on the back is a more formal invitation with an engagement picture of the happy couple. The invitations are awesome! Their design is so cool and is printed on thick, luxurious stock.
We also ordered a few table and wedding favor accents that tie in perfectly with the move theme. There are signature hollywood stars on the table confetti and director’s chairs on the favor stickers. How much fun is that? The venue is a large ballroom with a lounge, lighting will be white and red against a dramatic black background – doesn’t that just feel like a night at the Oscars? Except instead of celebrating movies, we will be celebrating a leading lady and her leading man who are both so deserving of a lifetime of happiness with each other!
Congratulations you two!

This is an awesome idea
Oh I just LOVE the theme, Emily! Everything looks amazing! I’ve heard people comment on how much the like Minted but I’ve never used them myself. You sound like an awesome big sis for helping out like this 🙂 Congrats to your sister and I hope it’s a wonderful day for the bride and groom, and for your family!
I never in a million years would have thought of a movie themed wedding — but I LOVE it! It’s fun and romantic!
Love your suster’s wedding theme! I also like their little extra touches for their reception. It looks like you will be having a great time!
I absolutely love it when people stay true to themselves and bring pieces of themselves into a celebration. Makes it so special for the bride & groom and their guests. Love all of the details.
