An Amazing Avocado Peach Smoothie To Make Tomorrow Morning #FoodieMamas
There are plenty of smoothie recipes that include bananas – which makes sense because they add a creamy texture to any smoothie – but have you ever tried adding avocado to a smoothie?
Just like bananas, avocados add a marvellously thick consistency to smoothies. The key with avocado is finding the right ingredients to pair it with (they are not as neutral and sweet as bananas). Personally, I find avocado works well paired with berries or stone fruit, like peaches.
For this smoothie recipe, I’ve combined half an avocado, two peaches, a handful of strawberries and almond milk. The result is a super thick, summer-fresh smoothie that tastes just like a dessert yet is packed with amazing health benefits.
My kiddos went crazy over this blend and even likened it to eating ice cream! I mean, you don’t get a better review than that, right?
This Avocado Peach Smoothie is a filling and energizing breakfast, which is terrific for busy mornings (like the school year ahead). All you have to do is toss the ingredients in the blender, mix until smooth (1-2 minutes) and enjoy!
Avocados are full of potassium and Vitamin K, amongst other nutrients, and pack 7 grams of fibre. They are terrific for getting your healthy fats and for maintaining metabolic health (source). Overall, they are just plain awesome.
