Come Experience Mexico In Ottawa This Weekend!
Have you dreamed of visiting Mexico? Or perhaps it’s already one of your favourite travel destinations! This weekend is your chance to discover Mexico in a whole new way right here in Canada’s capital.
Friends, Mexico is throwing one big fiesta in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary and it’s a party you don’t want to miss. “Experience Mexico” begins tomorrow, May 5th, at the Horticulture Building at Landsdowne Park, and runs until the 7th. Their incredible showcase and programing promises to entertain, enrich, and connect us with the Mexican culture by way of five main themes: Tourism; Products and Services; Education; Gastronomy; and Culture.
During the three days, you have the opportunity to enjoy many performances, and the lineup is spectacular. For starters, hailing from San Miguel de Allende, the incredibly talented opera singer, Morgana Love, will be taking the stage for our listening pleasure alongside Cirque du Soleil!
You can expect artistic performances, dances, handicrafts, food stations, workshops, and activities for children of all ages. These showcases are presented in partnership with Mexican tourist destinations for a true taste of what you can experience when you visit Mexico!
For hands on activities, there will everything from a Piñata-making workshop for children, to a cooking class with Chef Patricia Valez & Carmelita’s Cafe and so much in between. You’ll just have to check out the amazing program schedule to plan out your visit!
And do you know what else? This event is FREE to attend. Qué bueno! Whether you come to the park tomorrow to celebrate Cinco de Mayo or take the whole family on Saturday or Sunday (or both days!) to see the exhibitions, eat delicious food (sample Tequila!), and learn more about our North American neighbours – you’re sure to have a blast!
For my foodie friends, you can also indulge in delicious foods from Mexican and local suppliers, including: Mercado Latino, Panchos Bakery, Chorizo La Abuela, Passport Café, The Cupcake Lounge, Rebozos Restaurant, and Bar Tequilart. Can you say ñam ñam!
I hope you won’t miss this remarkable event – bring your friends and family to experience Mexico and have a wonderful time.
