Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Last year, my mom made the most delicious homemade cranberry sauce for Christmas.
I’ve never really been a fan of the tart topping, until I tried her new recipe. I could taste notes
of orange and cinnamon – something I’d never found in any other cranberry sauce and it was
absolutely delicious! She sent us home with a jar and we used it all up within the following weeks.
So I thought I would add this delectable cranberry sauce to our Thanksgiving dinner menu.
What I love about making things from scratch is the satisfaction of knowing precisely what goes into my family’s food. I like that this recipe has fewer than five ingredients and is chock-full of flavour. When I was cooking the sauce, our home floated in an aroma that had both Mr. Smith and Little A. heading in the direction of the kitchen and I don’t blame them – it smelt divine and tasted so too!

When are you going to stop tempting me with your delicious pics and actually begin feeding me…?! I´m just asking..! 😀
This looks so delicious! The thanksgiving meal is one I don’t have a lot of experience with, my 90 yr old grandma takes care of everything! And she wouldn’t have it any other way!
Yum! I have never made cranberries before, but I am going to attempt them this year!
What beautiful styling and photos Emily! My Mom makes a similar cranberry sauce and I know what you mean about the scent! It’s heavenly!

Mmm…. oh I’m definitely trying this out this holiday season! I love Cranberry sauce with orange juice, but never tried it with cinnamon!xx
Is it incredibly sad that I eat cranberry sauce out of the can? Its the one thing in a can that I like. But I think this will trump the stuff in the can! So easy, too! I’ll have to add it to our Christmas menu…
Can the can cranberry be used to make this sauce
Hi Laverne, most canned cranberries already contain sugar and are a sauce themselves (that I’ve seen…I don’t know if there are water packed canned cranberries. I’m not sure how it would turn out? In my opinion, I would stick to fresh or frozen cranberries. Thank you!
