Want More Energy? Kickstart Your Day With A Pineapple Green Smoothie
Today my kiddos returned to school after the winter holiday and in unison, I returned to work. To be honest, I wasn’t ready for them to go back to school, even though it can get pretty wild around here with both of them home. During the Christmas break, there were blanket forts, massive lego projects, play-doh baking sessions (and messes!), and a lot of imaginative play (and noise!) – which made for a loud home. At times, I was ready for a mini-break, which I often got by going outside and shoveling our driveway or going for a walk around the block – but for the most part, I just loved getting to spend the days together. There was so much celebrating, cuddling, and plain old hanging out – which was perfect.
With the winter holiday behind us and all the sweets eaten up, we’re ready to get back to a more balanced diet which includes daily smoothies. We did have a few smoothie breakfasts throughout the break, but more often than not we were cooking up pancakes, eggs, sausage, hearty oatmeal and baked loaves. I think we’re all okay with lightening things up a bit!
This green smoothie has been a family favourite for a long time. I’ve made it several different ways, but of late this is the recipe I’m following. It’s easy to love it, because it’s incredibly simple to make, packs a nutritious punch, and best of all – it tastes positively scrumptious! I love how smooth, frothy, and refreshing it is. In my opinion, the combination of pineapple, spinach, and banana is one of the best for green smoothies. You can barely taste the “green” and yet the spinach is the ideal balance to the natural sweetness of pineapple and banana. It’s super yummy, but don’t just take my word for it, try it for yourself!

For some reason I have never put pineapple in my smoothies!
This looks very delicious.
Also pineapple is low-FODMAP , so suitable for people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Make sure the banana is one of the less-ripe kind (little green is OK) and this smoothy will be very suiting for the stomach too.
Headed to grocery shop and will buy a package of frozen pineapples to make this!
I really try to eat my greens in my smoothies, but need them to be well disguised. This is totally a recipe I’ll try.
