Make a Big Splash with this Pineapple Green Smoothie
I’m loving this hot weather friends, I’m not going to lie. It makes swimming outdoors all the more amazing. The water is refreshing and feels good to play around in with the kids. With hotter temps, keeping hydrated is so important. Just a friendly reminder to boost your water intake, any way you can. Like a mason jar filled with a delicious, ice cold, tropical smoothie!
Not only will this summer smoothie quench your thirst, it’s a great meal replacer – because if you’re like me (and my kids), eating a big meal when you’re spending time outside in the heat just isn’t very appealing.
But this smoothie – now that’s appealing!
Frosty, tropical, citrus-y, refreshing. Mmmmm.
Go on, add a hot pink flamingo straw, you know you want to 😉
I am pretty much adding my fun sippers to any and all drinks, because who doesn’t want to feel like they are at a five star resort in their backyard? (p.s I found these at the dollar store!)
Pineapple is a natural hydrator – meaning, it keeps your water levels up and it keeps your skin from drying out (from too much sun and pool time). Opt for fresh pineapple whenever possible, it’s SO juicy, and full of nutrients.
For this smoothie, I used 2 cups of freshly chopped pineapple. The sweetness from the pineapple completely cuts any bitterness from the spinach leafs, so you get the vitamins without the “green” taste. Seriously, this is such a satisfying and delicious drink. I’m making myself want one right.this.minute.
Whip up a couple of these smoothies today and share one with a friend!
