What makes a mother happier than when her cubs play sweetly together. It really does melt my heart when Little A. spends extra time doting on his baby sister. He is wildly affectionate towards her and sometimes I worry he might squish her from excitement! But then there are times, like this – where he is tender, pushes her gently on the swing, and then tries to make her laugh (success!). In moments like these, I snap away with the camera quickly and then put it down. I admire the relationship that is present. I squeal with laughter, myself, over the sheer sweetness of their interaction. Darling cubs, you make me proud!

What I observed in their interaction was how natural it was. It was Aiden’s instinct to run up on her and tickle her toes, duck under the swing, and pop around from the wooden post. It was his innate playfulness that propelled this moment together and Abigail was thrilled to bits. She has bright eyes for her big brother, continually amazed at his antics! I wonder how long that will last…I hope a good while.

On days like today, where the sun is shining and the weather is beautiful – we always find our way to a nearby park and enjoy the fun of running around, sliding, building sandcastles, digging enormous pits, and pushing our baby in the swing. Sweet, sweet days, these are.
