I really wanted to write about apple picking today, because that’s what we had planned to do this weekend. But, a little nasty virus that’s been circulating reared its ugly head once more and on Friday, both kids were under the weather. Boo. My heart aches when I see either of my children unwell and I just want whatever ails them to go away. So instead of a trip to our beloved orchard, on Saturday we went to the Doctor’s office. Today was spent recovering, keeping the little ones in good spirits and making a hearty soup. I did get out for a while and walked through the market. Rows of fruits and vegetables has a way of clearing my mind. while simultaneously inducing food creativity.
There were gorgeous tomatoes, bright organic carrots, and the sweetest miniature pumpkins. I picked up just the right ingredients for that carrot ginger soup I talked about making last week (which never happened) and today I made it. What a soothing, nutritious soup! I’ll share the recipe with you tomorrow.
I hope you’ve enjoyed a lovely, unseasonably warm and beautiful weekend.

Aww, I hope they get better soon – I hate it when my boys are sick too. 🙁
