Best Coffee Shops in Ottawa for Cozy Vibes

Coffee! Who does’t love coffee shops?

Thereโ€™s something about finding a really good coffee shop that makes a city feel more personal.

Over the years, coffee shops in Ottawa have become some of my favorite places to work for an afternoon or simply wander into on a quiet morning with nowhere to be. Some are bright and modern, some feel tucked away and cozy, and others honestly feel like something out of a movie.

As someone who has lived in Ottawa for most of my life, Iโ€™ve slowly built a list of favourite coffee spots around the city – places I return to again and again for the atmosphere just as much as the coffee.

Whether youโ€™re looking for:

  • a cozy cafe in Ottawa
  • a beautiful aesthetic coffee shop
  • somewhere to work remotely
  • or simply a great latte and pastry

These are some of the best coffee shops in Ottawa to add to your list.

Little Victories Coffee Roasters

๐Ÿ“ Address: 44 Elgin St, Ottawa, ON

Little Victories feels like one of those classic Ottawa coffee shops everyone ends up loving.

The Elgin Street location has such a clean, calm atmosphere with amazing natural light and some of the best lattes in the city. Itโ€™s one of my favorite places to stop before a canal walk or after spending time downtown.

If youโ€™re visiting Ottawa, this is absolutely one of the coffee shops Iโ€™d recommend first.

What to order:

  • vanilla latte
  • cappuccino
  • seasonal pastries

Arlington Five

๐Ÿ“ Address: 5 Arlington Ave, Ottawa, ON

Arlington Five has one of the coziest interiors in Ottawa.

Itโ€™s small, warm, and feels very neighborhood-focused in the best way possible. This is the kind of coffee shop where you instantly want to stay longer than planned.

I especially love visiting during fall and winter when the whole space feels extra cozy.

Perfect for:

  • reading
  • slow mornings
  • catching up with friends
  • remote work

Equator Coffee

๐Ÿ“ Multiple Ottawa Locations

Equator Coffee is a great spot to meet people. It’s got good vibes and healthy snack options too.

The NAC location especially feels bright and peaceful, and they have organic and fair trade coffee. Itโ€™s also one of the nicest coffee spots to sit with a laptop for a few hours.

Happy Goat Coffee Co.

๐Ÿ“ Multiple Ottawa Locations

Happy Goat feels very โ€œOttawaโ€ to me.

It has that local, creative energy that makes it feel comfortable and approachable, and there are several locations around the city depending on where youโ€™re exploring.

Their coffee is roasted locally, and itโ€™s one of my go-to spots for a casual hang and really good coffee.

Drip House

๐Ÿ“ Multiple Ottawa Locations

If you love aesthetic coffee shops, Drip House needs to be on your list.

The interiors are beautiful, the drinks are creative, and the entire space feels very lifestyle-magazine-meets-cozy-neighborhood-cafe.

This is also one of my favorite spots in Ottawa for content editing days or slower weekend mornings.

What to try:

  • iced lattes
  • specialty seasonal drinks
  • brunch items

Morning Owl

๐Ÿ“ Multiple Ottawa Locations

Morning Owl has some of the prettiest interiors in Ottawaโ€™s coffee scene.

The locations all have slightly different personalities, but they consistently feel bright, welcoming, and modern without feeling overly trendy.

Itโ€™s also one of the better coffee shops in Ottawa for grabbing a quick drink before walking around downtown or heading into meetings.

Ministry of Coffee

๐Ÿ“ Address: 274 Elgin St, Ottawa, ON

Ministry of Coffee feels calm in a city where life can sometimes feel very busy.

The atmosphere here is quieter and a little more understated, which makes it perfect for working, journaling, or spending a slow afternoon downtown.

Their coffee is excellent, but honestly the atmosphere is what keeps bringing me back.
